Keeping Good Homeopathic Records

One of the greatest gifts you can give your family is high-quality homeopathy. Aside from learning about homeopathy, having a family homeopath, and instilling a good diet/non-toxic lifestyle, there is one oft-overlooked piece that you may be missing to help your family stay healthy. To achieve great homeopathic care, keeping track of your family members’ homeopathic history, which remedies worked for what symptoms, their medical timeline, and more is key.

Louisa May Alcott (a homeopathy devotee) once said, “Preserve your memories, keep them well, what you forget you can never retell.”

And yes, what you don’t write down, you can and will forget. That’s why I’m going to talk about what you can lose if you don’t keep good homeopathy records of your family members. When you keep good track of your family members’ homeopathy records, which remedies worked, which illnesses were important turning points, and more, you’re fortifying your own ability and your homeopath’s ability to help you as time goes on.

The Importance of Keeping Good Records

Let’s start by saying that I have been at fault for not doing this, and I have learned why you don’t want to skip good record-keeping.

Once when my entire family got a stomach bug, my daughter got it the worst. Her pain was so severe that I even thought it might have been her appendix. I tried several different homeopathic remedies to no avail. Thankfully, my homeopath got back to me and recommended Chamomila, which worked beautifully.

It was then that the light bulb went off! Chamomila has been a very useful remedy for my daughter over the years. It helped with her swimmer’s ear infection, during the flu, and significantly when she was a baby. I thought she’d grow out of this remedy, but she is going on 14 now and that remedy keeps coming up and bringing her into balance.

At the time our homeopath was new to us and didn’t know about my daughter’s history with Chamomila. We now know that this is a powerful and deep-acting remedy for my daughter. When she first got the stomach bug, if I had been keeping a homeopathic journal, I would have quickly remembered the value of Chamomila and I would have helped her a lot sooner!

Before developing my current system, I’d try taking notes before but I would always lose steam or not get as far as I’d like because I hadn’t come up with a good note-taking system for my family. This led me to develop My Family Homeopathy Journal. This journal solves all the problems I kept coming up against in my early days of record keeping! It helps you record important observations about acute and chronic illnesses for all your family members. It also empowers you to take valuable notes for when you are taking your own case and it enables you to communicate clearly with your family homeopath.

How Does My Family Homeopathy Journal Work?

My Family Homeopathy Journal helps you organize important observations for acute and chronic illnesses for up to eight family members (including pets!). This note-taking system empowers you to keep valuable notes whenever you take your own case. It also enables you to communicate clearly with a homeopath at appointments as you refer to your symptoms. Over time, this journal will become a valuable health record of your family’s homeopathic care.

But, this journal isn’t just for keeping symptom-related records. The A-Z index of over 50 pages allows you to take notes on homeopathy information like remedies and keynotes. For example, if you recently learned that Aconite is the Arnica of the eye and is useful in eye injuries, you may create an entry under A that reads: A – Aconite, the Arnica of the eye (good for eye injuries).

It also includes several practical and pragmatic sections like the book list bookshelf, remedies you need to order, and family member timelines. These timelines should include life events, such as marriage or the loss of a loved one, as well as significant health events such as injuries, medications, and hospitalizations. All of this information is an invaluable map to help you find the path to wholeness.

“Where has this been all my homeopathic life??!! I have been working with a homeopath and trying to keep track of information on a pad of paper (not effective). This will help so much when I talk with her in the future. And keeping track of info for the rest of the family in one place is super helpful. I love this resource!”

“I bought Paola’s Family Homeopathy Journal and took her Book Club class. The journal works wonders for my family of 5. I love how it lists remedies in the back and has a timeline to help keep track of my family’s illnesses and the remedies we used. We love it and highly recommend it!”

An Exercise in Mindfulness

Finally, this journal uses beautiful homeopathy-inspired illustrations that were commissioned especially for this project; these are meant to be used as a calming and meditative adult coloring book experience. If you were ever to sit next to me in a class or a meeting, you would see that I’m a doodler. It’s relaxing and helps me concentrate. The pages of my journal are filled with drawings and sketches from homeopathy-inspired themes. So when you have some free time on your hands (or when you’re stuck in a meeting or mulling over a homeopathy case), bring your journal with you and make it beautiful, just as homeopathy is making your body beautiful and healthy.

With this in mind, I’ve got a challenge for you! If you’re like me, you’re probably juggling too much, running around, and not taking enough time for self-care. Well, this is your wake-up call to press pause and take a little break. Flu season is upon us and if we don’t slow down a bit, this time of year can really take a toll on you!

Here are your instructions. If anyone asks, just tell them you’re under my strict orders to take a break.

Step 1: Set the mood. Light a beeswax candle (they make a delightful crackling sound), turn on some calming music, or simply dim the lights a bit and pour yourself a glass of your favorite kombucha.

Step 2: Get some coloring supplies. This can be crayons, coloring pencils, or even watercolors. Raid your kid’s art drawer and bring some coloring tools.

Step 3: Print this FREE sample and get your hands on the free excerpt from my Family Homeopathy Journal.

Note: The homeopathy-inspired adult coloring is on pages 14-15 & 17-18 of the free sample.
